here's my big fat change

I don't have enough time to tell you all my feelings about this change I recently made. It's heartbreaking yet exciting at the same time. Mostly heartbreaking.
It was my choice. I wasn't forced. Yet I still have an empty hole in my stomach.
I've lost my security blanket. My signature. The one thing I loved most about myself.

Can you feel the sadness in my words yet?

Ok, so it's not that big of a deal. Well, it is, but it's certainly not the end of the world.

Let's reminisce for a second, shall we?

Bye-bye long, long beautiful locks....

I know. Crazy, right? After my crazy sister convinced me (thanks, Julie)  last attempt to chop off my long locks (stupid, stupid, stupid) a few years ago, I told myself I would never cut my hair again. Ever.
But like I said, I get bored, my hair was getting stringy at the ends, and I've had long hair my entire life. Seriously. If I could find my Kindergarten school picture, you would see the hair that I was constantly sitting on, it was so long.
Besides, my hair grows a foot like, every 6 months. So change is good. Right?!
Everyone agree with me and tell me you love it so I don't hide in bed and cry for the next three months.

Giiiiirl, as soon as I saw this I thought you cut your hair. It looks awesome! If I could cut my hair short and not look like I'd have a fro, I'd be ALL over it! Your hair is amazingly versatile. LOVE that you can experiment and have it always look amazing. No worries, hair grows back =]

Love it! So cute and versatile. I did the same thing several years ago although I went a lot shorter. I donated 12 inches. As much as I loved it short, I'm growing it out again. No need to hide and cry; you look amazing!

Did you color it too? Of course it looks amazing - you always do! That being said - Wow! I was surprised! There were 2 people who inspired me to work on growing my hair out super long (still working on it) - you and my sister-in-law. And you both chopped it in the past couple weeks. What does that mean? :) Really, though, I think it's beautiful. And I also think you look kinda like Kristen Stewart in these pictures.

You brave brave woman. You look darling though! Every time I chop off my hair I cry too. There's no shame in it!

I love it!!!! You look so great! I love the curl/wave you have going on. You can totally rock the short hair just as good as you rock the long hair.

Lauren,
As soon as I started reading this I KNEW you cut your hair! And you know that I know how you feel about your hair, that is one of the things we always had in common! Remember in kindergarten when people always confused us because of our hair?? Anyway, I have been contemplating cutting a lot of hair off as well but I keep putting it off! You are now my inspiration :) you look great! The hair is amazing! I also remember you cutting a bunch off in 6th grade, I was so surprised! That was Julie way back then too wasn't it?! Ha!

Holly, you and I have always been so much alike. And yes, it was Julie BOTH time I chopped my hair off. Go figure... =)

That was the most dramatic entrance to a hair cut I've ever read. And I rule for helping change up your look. You're welcome. Oh, and it looks cute. Love me.
